Completed in 1897, the landmark building is affectionately known as the "People's Palace." Visitors can hear music, see theater and dance performances, films, and art exhibitions, and view magnificent mosaics and the world's largest Tiffany stained-glass dome. The Chicago Cultural Center is the nation's first free municipal cultural center and one of the most comprehensive free arts showcases in the country.
